greetings from montecito, a quaint little town just outside santa barbara, california.

if you’ve been following me for a while or if you’re new to the this is what i eat newsletter you already know that my recipes are always colorful, delicious, healthy, vegetable-forward, and naturally packed with nutrition.

at the farmers market this week, i bought nearly every variety of tomato my friend victor from Munak Ranch had for sale - - pineapple tomatoes (a sweet heirloom), black burgundy, sungolds (the sweeeeeetest), green zebra, cherry, yellow, orange, and celebrity beefsteaks all made it into my basket. i took a few from each box until i had the most beautiful rainbow of tomatoes. people gain inspiration for their dish from all differently places, mine starts with color.

i sliced them all up, added a few simple ingredients, and made the easiest tomato salad. you’ll find the recipe just below the paywall.

i absolutely love this salad. it’s so simple, so juicy, and so good that i drink every last drop of the tomato juices from the bottom of the bowl as well as dip grilled bread into it. summer tomatoes don't need much. this is proof.

xoxoxoxo,

behind the scenes: shopping for my tv appearance mood board with links

first, the knitwear. i know my colors and i stick to them as well. pinks, blues, greens, purples. red.

1. the perfect periwinkle v-neck knit. somehow it’s more blue than purple, which makes it even dreamier and will look perfect in person and on camera. truly making my green eyes pop!

2. this pink!!! pure eyelet barbie perfection. even better with a little summer tan.

3. i would pair this knit tank with one of the cardigans below. the perfect layering piece.

4. this mauve is gorgeous. i truly think it looks incredible on every skin tone. i saw it in store yesterday and fell in love.

5. and the short-sleeve version! the little pockets and puff sleeves feel so ladylike. i wore the navy version on a morning show a few years ago and still think about it.

6. the most perfect teal green ever created and i own this cardigan in 2 other colors already :) .

7. this barely-pink, slightly violet cardigan is everything. it’s perfectly sheer and would look so chic tucked into jeans with a belt. swooooon.

8. i ordered this jacket for fall. the plaid instantly reminded me of my Isabel Marant coat from 2019-ish, and i’ve been chasing the recreation that vibe ever since. the quality is incredible and it’s from france.

9. i love a striped rugby. this one is so affordable, and the burgundy and powder blue combination is perfection.

10. more stripes, please. i discovered this brand the other day, and this sweater instantly reminded me of the striped GAP sweaters everyone wore when i was in elementary school.

11. such a breezy, beautiful tank. i’m obsessed with the crochet details, and Jessie makes some of the prettiest knit pieces.

12. this brand makes some of the sexiest pieces out there, but i love how modest this one feels. the blue is absolutely stunning. i love a camisole that still covers.

13. this red gingham top! so chic, so ladylike, and perfectly modest. i would describe my style as tablecloth.

14. my knit that i can’t stop wearing. it’s the perfect lightweight sweater for a chilly california night. it is on constant rotation.
