Every day feels like Mother’s Day when you have a mom as incredible as mine. Harriet is a star, and I couldn’t be prouder to be known as her daughter. Everywhere I go, someone tells me, “We love Harriet!” and shares how she’s changed their life.
We may not look alike—and I’ve got a good foot on her in height—but our spirits are the same. We never forget a name or a face, lead with love and kindness, and light up every room we enter. She taught me to be a mensch, to speak with kindness, and to cherish Shabbat.
Cooking for my mom—and all the mom figures in my life: aunties, sisters, bubbies, and beyond—is one of my greatest joys. These are some of my favorite dishes to share. And no matter what’s on the table, there’s always a beautiful fruit plate to finish.
